El Yunque

El Yunque is the only tropical national forest in the United States. Its main characteristic is the climatological contrast it offers compared to other areas of the country. Even when Puerto Rico enjoys a hot and sunny climate, the humidity of the park means that its interior has low temperatures and rain. An essential visit if you want some respite from the heat.

The park is located in the mountains of Luquillo, near the majestic beaches that run along the coast. In it, you can find more than 200 species of trees, 20 different types of orchids, small lakes and waterfalls. The best points observe the beauty of the place are the Yokahu Tower and Mount Britton, that offers incredible panoramic views of the islands of Culebra and Vieques.
